Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers state is unhappy with the directive by the National Judicial Council asking judges under investigation to step aside.
Wike who was talking to executive members of the Nigerian Bar Association Port Harcourt branch who paid him a courtesy visit on Friday, said it portends great danger to the nation’s democracy.
He said the u-turn by the NJC on its earlier stand that the executive should provide more evidence on the allegations against the judges, will only encourage a deluge of petitions from politicians against any judge, whose judgement is likely to go against such politician.
He added that the development is against the judicial arm of government and the common man.
