A Nigerian Pastor based in China, Joseph Nwajueze was allegedly chased to his death by Chinese security operatives over alleged immigration formalities.
The federal government has condemned the killing and wants an investigation into the matter.
In a statement, chairman, Nigerians in the Diaspora Commission, Abike Dabiri-Erewa, says the culprits must be punished.
While condoling with the family of Pastor Nwajueze, she promised to ensure that justice is served as there was no justifiable reason for the killing.
She equally condemned the “stigmatisation” of Nigerians living in China, saying those who were found guilty of the country’s laws should be prosecuted.
The deceased was living with his wife, Chinwe and four children in China before he was killed.
