Nigerian internationals, Victor Osimhen and Alex Iwobi were in scoring form for their clubs in midweek actions in Europe.
Osimhen came in as a first half substitute to score twice as his club, Lille defeated Saint Etienne 3-0 in their French Ligue 1 clash on Wednesday night.
The tall forward opened scoring for Lille in the 39th minute.
And scored the third goal 16 minutes from time after Jonathan Bamba added the second goal for Lille from the penalty spot
The Nigeria international has now scored four goals in three league appearances for his new club
Another Super Eagles player, Iwobi, has scored his first goal for his new club, Everton in a 4-2 victory over League two side, Lincoln City in the League Cup.
With scores at 2-2 towards the end of the game, Iwobi’s header in the 81st minute gave the visitors a 3-2 lead
Brazilian forward Richarlison sealed victory with the fourth goal.
It is the Nigerian forward’s first start after his transfer deadline day switch from Arsenal to Everton for 40 million pounds on a five-year deal.
