The Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Tambuwal has declared Monday, September 2, 2019 as public holiday.
The holiday is to allow the Muslim faithful to mark the Islamic New Year 1441 after the Hijrah of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) from Makkah to Madina.
This is contained in a statement signed by his aide on media and public affairs, Abubakar Shrkara and made available to journalists on Sunday.
Governor Tambuwal enjoins the people to seize the opportunity to pray for peace and the security of Sokoto State and Nigeria as a whole, while wishing everyone happy and prosperous New Year.
