The House of Representatives’ Adhoc committee on Niger Delta Development Commission has summoned the Central Bank Governor, Godwin Emefiele over abandoned projects embarked upon by the commission.
Also summoned is the Acting Managing director of the NDDC along with heads of some of the directorates in the commission.
In its submission before the committee, Akwa Ibom state through its commissioner for lands, said 384 projects are abandoned by the NDDC in the state.
The chairman of the committee, Ossai Nicholas Ossai, said the NDDC which is crucial to the assignment at hand had not been giving the desired cooperation.
The committee was also worried that the Central Bank of Nigeria was not represented at the one- day investigative hearing afer several invitations and so , its chairman issued the summons.
Those summoned are to appear before the committee next week Tuesday.
