An Abuja High Court has granted a request by the Federal government seeking the arraignment of the Chief Registrar of the Supreme Court, Ahmed Saleh, and two other officials of the court.
It’s a nine-count charge of gratification and diversion of N2.2bn (that’s about 698 million dollars)belonging to the apex court.
The arraignment of the defendants was scheduled for wednesday but neither the accused persons nor their lawyers were present in court.
Prosecuting counsel, Hajara Yusuf asked for an adjournment to enable the prosecution produce them in court.
Justice A.B Mohammed in granting Yusuf’s request has fixed November the 17th for the arraignment of the accused.
