The House of Representatives’ Committee on Defence said it will ensure accountability in the spending of all funds allotted security agencies.
The Committee Chairman, Babajimi Benson, stated this in a press statement in Abuja.
He said it had become necessary in view of the need to secure lives and properties of the citizens.
The two term member who represents Ikorodu Federal Constituency of Lagos State added that security agencies in the country must live up to the expectations of Nigerians to protect their lives and property.
He said that the committee was ready to give them the necessary support especially following the decision of the House to provide a special fund to be approved by the National Assembly outside the national budget for the Federal Government to continue the fight against insecurity.
