The Department of Petroleum Resources, Abeokuta field office, has warned cooking gas skid operators in the state to either regularise their operations or risk being shut down and be prosecuted.
The Controller of Operations, Muinat Bello-Zagi, gave this warning during an interactive session with members of the Cooking Gas Skid Proprietors Association of Nigeria, Ogun State chapter.
She noted that although, the aspiration of the Government was to increase domestic use of cooking gas within the country, the agency would not compromise safety.
She urged members of the association to always ask questions about rules guiding their operations and to avoid things that will go against the rules of the agency.
