Sportswear company Adidas has completed an office in its hometown of Herzogenaurach in Bavaria cloaked in a façade that resembles a sports arena.
Named the the World of Sports Arena, Adidas’ 52,000 sq m World of Sports campus provides working space for about 2,000 employees.
Although Adidas believes that the building looks more like a stadium than an office block, building designer for the sports wear company, Behnisch Architektenm says that was not its original intention as it incorporates other functions.
Behnisch Architektenm further stated that the idea was that there should be nothing to remind you of a traditional building. “The number of stories, the windows, and the facade’s vital functional details should all be impossible to identify, with a low profile in visual terms.”
