The Governor of Lagos is ready to embark on massive road rehabilitation across the state.
Babajide Sanwoolu disclosed this after meeting with major construction companies at the Marina state house.
Three months ago, the Lagos State public works embarked on palliative measures on about 200 roads but it looked like a drop in the bucket.
With more than N250 billion said to be lost to traffic annually, Lagos residents bear the excruciating hours just to move from one point to another, that it seem the government is helpless.
Now, the governor is taking the problem head-on as he met with 8 major construction companies, to begin road rehabilitation.
Motorists plying Ojota by-pass, Agbogbon will wait a little longer as the contractors begin work on that route in the next 48hours.
The governor appealed to the residents to cooperate with the law enforcement officers who will be on duty to ensure free flow of traffic during the period.
He also commiserated with families of those who lost their lives in Magodo, Ita- Elewa during Saturday’s rainfall.
