American boxer Patrick Day has died .
Patrick died on Wednesday, days after sustaining a critical brain injury during his USBA Super-Welterweight fight on with Charles Conwell.
Day was rushed to hospital on Saturday after he was knocked out by Conwell in the 10th round on the under-card of Oleksandr Usyk’s fight with Chazz Witherspoon.

Day’s promoter, Lou DiBella, released a statement announcing the death of the 27 year-old, paying tribute to the fighter who won two Nationals at amateur level before a professional career of 17-4-1 with six knockouts .
Day is the fourth boxer to die due to a boxing fight in the past three months following Russian Maxim Dadashev, Argentine Hugo Santillan and Bulgarian Boris Stanchov.
