The Federal Road Safety Corps said the fuel tanker fire on Lagos-Ibadan Expressway has been brought under control.
It said the crash scene has now been cleared and traffic restored on the Expressway.
The FRSC adds that the incident involving two vehicles and seven persons, happened around 7:30 a.m, around Christopher University, Mowe, Ogun State.
It said one person was injured and has been taken to the hospital for treatment.
The FRSC said the cause of the accident is suspected to be excessive speeding, which led to a loss of control.
