Bernard scored Everton’s first goal, after showing some good skills to dribble around West Ham’s defence.
Gylfi Sigurdsson scored a stunning second, to make sure of the points for the hosts .
The result means Everton are out of the relegation zone, with their first win after four straight Premier League defeats.
In Spain,Antoine Griezmann, Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez, all scored as Barcelona beat Eibar 3-0 to go top of La Liga with sixth league win of season.
Antoine Griezmann netted his fourth league goal this season to open the scoring.
Lionel Messi added a second just before the hour mark after a slick move with Luis Suarez, netting a third, as Barcelona ran away with the game .
They will remain top if Real Madrid lose, and Granada fail to win, this weekend.
