The National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies has admitted eleven candidates for the 2019/2020 academic session of the Higher National Diploma in official reporting.
This is in addition to the twenty four students currently engaged in the academic programme. This was disclosed in Abuja at the second matriculation of the Institute.
Correspondent Tijesu Adeoye that considering the technicalities of the Legislature and the importance of the daily proceedings at the parliament, the official Reporters cadre is very vital to the operations of the Legislature as it provides records for future references and guidance for legislators.
The National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies sees it as imperative to assist the National and State Houses of Assembly in developing the skills of Official Reporters in diverse areas especially in the use of modern day technology.
The Newly admitted candidates hold very high expectations that the training will offer a different and more productive approach in handling Legislative matters
The institute assures that it will continue to strategize and reposition it’s operations for an improved legislative capacity development in Nigeria.
