Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Prof. Muhammad Ali Pate says the establishment of a unified national health system that prioritises the needs of all citizens is bolstered by an effective implementation of local government financial autonomy across Nigeria.
Speaking at the National Stakeholder Engagement on Accelerating Improvement in Primary Health Care in Nigeria with Local Government Financial Autonomy, in Abuja on Thursday, the Coordinating Minister emphasised that the government is focused on enhancing primary healthcare services to ensure quality, accessible, and affordable care at the grassroots level.

He added that President Bola Tinubu’s administration’s support for health sector reforms aligns with its vision of cooperative federalism, where all levels of government work together to improve healthcare delivery.
