After more than a decade of inactivity, the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Airport in Minna is set to resume commercial operations, beginning with a ceremonial flight by Overland Airways.
Once dormant, the facility now promises new hope for travelers the resumption of flights is expected to boost connectivity between Minna, Lagos and Abuja facilitating business and travel.
The government of Niger state is currently focused on revitalising the agricultural sector to drive the economy, restarting commercial operations at the airport will provide enable easy transport of the airport Which the state government has designated as a free trade zone
The airport formerly known as Abubakar Imam International Airport was inactive for over a decade.
In March 2024 the airport was renamed to president Bola Ahmed Tinubu recognising his support for the State.
