A discrepancy has emerged over the death toll from the Jigawa communal clash, with eyewitnesses reporting that 17 people have been buried, including three who were burned to ashes.
In contrast, the Jigawa State Police Command maintains that the actual figures are nine dead and four hospitalized.
Eyewitnesses, who spoke to TVC News on condition of anonymity, described the scene as “absolute chaos”, with homes and properties set ablaze.
In a disturbing account, they revealed that three individuals were burned beyond recognition in the inferno.
According to them, the communal clash in Jigawa state has escalated, claiming the lives of at least 17 people, with Many others been hospitalized, while several remain missing.
They added that the violence has also displaced numerous farmers, who are now unable to access their farms due to threats from Fulani herders.
Many farmers remain fearful, unsure of when they will be able to return to their farms.
Recall that the conflict began when a group of suspected Fulani miscreants stole a large quantity of hibiscus and other valuable items from a shop in Gululu village, Miga Local Government.
Farmers later traced the thieves to a Fulani settlement camp in Yankunama village, Jahun LGA, where they were met with violence.
Police officers from Miga and Jahun Divisions were deployed to the scene to restore peace and order.
