U.S President Donald Trump has reiterated his doctrine of “only two genders.”
In his first address to the US Congress on Tuesday, the Republican leader referred to one of his executive orders, which called for the establishment of two genders: male and female.
Addressing a joint session of the US Congress, President Trump declared that America “will no longer be woke” and that the “tyranny of diversity” has been abolished throughout the federal government.
Trump also called on Congress to pass a bill which will “ban and criminalise sex changes on children and forever ending the lie that any child is trapped in the wrong body.”
In the executive order called defending women from gender ideology extremism and restoring biological truth to the federal government, the Trump administration states that the US will “recognise two sexes, male and female.
“These sexes are not changeable and are grounded in fundamental and incontrovertible reality.”
With the implementation of this executive order, all official policies which recognise a third gender have come to an end.
Trump’s statements reiterate his strict anti-diversity stance, which was expressed during his campaign for the 2024 election campaign as well.
Adding to this, Trump signed another order in February which vowed to keep “men out of women’s sports” and vice versa. Furthermore, the US President has also signed an order which bans transgender persons from enlisting in the US military.
