Edo indigenes in Abuja charge political parties to embrace peace

The Association of Edo state indigenes in Abuja has urged key political players to embrace peace and shun violence as the day for the governorship election in the state approaches.

The Association is the umbrella body which protects the rights of its indigenes living outside the Edo state.

The assocition gathered to celebrate the heritage of the state and also to seek how to promote human capacity development and key issues affecting their state.

In just over seven months, Edo state will be having it’s Governorship election, and the group said it is important for youths to shun violence, embrace peace at all times and avoid being used as tools of destruction in the state.

Governor of Edo state, Godwin Obaseki and the National Chairman of the All Progressive congress, Adams Oshiomole are urged to work together and keep aside personal interests.

At the end of the ceremony, a new president of the Association emerged, who pledged to bring together every Edo indigene living in Abuja.
