But experts believe that awareness raised has not done enough to discourage the scourge of domestic violence.
The cheering news is that it has gone a long way towards ending the culture of silence as more men and women are now willing to open up once they are subjected to domestic violence .
The organisers of the peace walk want government to throw more energy into supporting men as they are increasingly becoming victims of domestic and sexual violence.
Domestic violence is not limited to physical abuse, but can also involve emotional and financial abuse.
Victims have been advised to seek help in order to curb the prevalence.
