The Federal Government has accepted a request by the Gombe State Government for the takeover of its newly reconstructed general hospital in Kumo.
Both the Gombe State Government and residents of Akko Local Government Area are pleased with the health facility’s conversion into a Federal Medical Centre.
It has been a long-held desire now achieved.
From the demolition of the old general hospital to the construction of an ultramodern new facility, residents have had high hopes of a fully functional healthcare Centre.
The General Hospital had to relocate to a makeshift facility during the reconstruction.
But it was all worth it, the Federal Government’s decision has paid off, now the community has access to topnotch healthcare.
Gombe Commissioner for Health gives an update on the availability of equipment and facilities at the newly established Federal Medical Centre in the State.
Big changes are coming to the healthcare scene in Nigeria’s northeast region.
According to an official statement from the Special Adviser to the president on information and strategy, the facility has been rebranded as the Federal Medical Centre Kumo.
This tertiary health centre will play a crucial role in catering to patients from the northeast region, while also complementing the larger Federal Teaching Hospital in Gombe town.
The move is expected to boost healthcare services in the region, providing more options for patients seeking specialised care.
