Rival Terrorist groups ISWAP and Boko Haram have clashed near Lake Chad, Resulting in Fatalities.
The deadly confrontation between the two groups involved a faction based in Niger republic and another aligned with an Islamic militant group positioned near Tumbun Gini on the Nigerian side of Borno State.
The conflict reportedly started around 5:40 PM on March 3, 2025, in a contested zone between Tumbu Mota and Tumbu Marakiriya.
This volatile region, situated in southeastern Bosso, Diffa Region of Niger, and the northern outskirts of Malam Fatori, Abadam Local Government Area, Borno State, Nigeria, remains a stronghold of insurgent activities.
Initial reports suggest that no fewer than 20 militants from one faction were eliminated, while several others suffered injuries.
