Jigawa State government has signed an agreement with three security companies to improve safety in key public institutions across the State.
The MoU aims to provide comprehensive security for schools, hospitals and courts across the state.
Earlier, the state executive council approved a report recommending the adoption of preventive security strategies.
The report suggested employing 9,972 local youth as security personnel to protect primary and secondary schools, courts and health institutions.
The Secretary to the State Government, Bala Ibrahim, said the safety of children, healthcare workers and judicial personnel was paramount.
He added that the state government is committed to ensuring the security and well-being of its citizens.
The three security companies involved are Corporate Security and Intelligence Studies Limited, Jumad Security Services and Consultancy Limited, and Karakallo Global Security Network.
