The Kebbi State chapter of the Nigerian Union of Journalists has honoured Bello Ibrahim Nahaliku, the State’s Accountant General, with an award of excellence in recognition of his exceptional qualities, including his media-friendly nature and humanitarian services to the people of Kebbi State.
According to Comrade Bello Abubakar Sarki, Chairman of the Kebbi State NUJ Council, the award acknowledges Alhaji Nahaliku’s outstanding contributions to the state.
The council members had earlier visited the accountant general to introduce themselves after their election two months ago and to strengthen their relationship with him.
Comrade Abubakar appealed to Alhaji Nahaliku to support the union’s efforts in assisting families of deceased members, a tradition the NUJ has maintained for years.
In his response, the State Accountant General, Alhaji Ibrahim Nahaliku encouraged working journalists in the state to uphold the principles of fairness and balance in their reporting.
He also urged them to highlight the achievement of Nasir Idris Kauran Gwandu’s administration, such as beautification of the State Capital, Construction road networks all over the state, installation of solar street lights and other infrastructure development.
The award presentation was a significant highlight of the occasion, emphasizing the importance of recognizing exceptional individuals who contribute to Kebbi State’s development. Alhaji Nahaliku’s dedication to serving the people and his commitment to transparency and accountability make him a worthy recipient of this prestigious award.
