The Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Oil) Heneiken Lokpobiri, has asked the contractor responsible for the Atlantic Modular Refinery in the Brass area of Bayelsa State to expedite the completion of the project.
He warned that stricter measures would be enforced if progress is not made.
Brass Island in Bayelsa State is home to several Federal Government Oil and Gas facilities, including the proposed 2,000 BPD Atlantic Modular Refinery, Brass Petroleum Product Terminal, Brass Fertilizer, and others initiated under former President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration.
The Minister of State Petroleum Resources Oil Heineken Lokpobiri visited Brass to inspect the project.

He started the tour, first to the access road to the Brass Petroleum Product Terminal also called the tank farm, which is currently under construction.
The minister then paid a visit to the palace of His Royal Highness, Samuel sambo, the Amadabo of Sambo-Ama.
There was also a stakeholders meeting with chiefs and representatives from Twon Brass, Odioma, Eqona, Okpoma, and other communities within the Brass Council Area
The Federal Government has again reiterated that these initiatives would contribute significantly to the overall development of the petroleum sector.
