Governor of Oyo state, Seyi Makinde has pledged to do more for the people of Oyo State in 2025, focusing on increasing their spending power and easing economic burdens.
Governor Makinde made this known in his New Year message through a state broadcast in Ibadan.
The governor who expressed gratitude for the resilience of the people and the opportunities for growth and development, highlighted several initiatives aimed at boosting the economy.
He revealed that, upgrading the Ibadan Airport to international status, constructing the first segment of the Ibadan Circular Road, and promoting education and enlightenment among residents are part of his plans for the year.
Governor Makinde acknowledged the difficulties faced by the state in 2024, including economic hardship and tragedies such as the Bodija Explosion and the Islamic High School stampede deaths, saying it helped the administration take proactive decisions.
