The Minister of Defence Abubakar Badaru has visited front-line troops in Zurmi Local government area of Zamfara state where he tasked them to redouble their efforts in the fight against banditry.
Zurmi is one of the local government areas worst hit by the activities
of armed bandits in Zamfara.
Communities, Highways, Shops, Houses, Military formations and police stations were not spared by the bandits in the past.
But the presence of additional troops in the areas has brought some
relief to the locals, travelers and other road users.
To encourage the troops to do more, the minister of Defence Abubakar Badaru and his team visited the front-line troops In the local council.
After the visit, the minister proceeds to Katsina state through Zurmi –
Jibiya road which motorists and other road user have abandoned for long due to the fear of being attacked, killed, or kidnap for ransom.
