Former Rivers State Commissioner of Police, Mustapha Mohammed Bala has officially assumed duty as the 32nd AIG in charge of Zone 6 Command, taking over from Jonathan Towuru.
Bala, who joined the service as a cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police in 1992, is the immediate past Commissioner of Police, in charge of Rivers State.
AIG Bala holds a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and a Master’s degree in Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice.
Prior to his appointment, he served as Commissioner of Police in Rivers State and Abia State, demonstrating his ability to lead and manage police commands effectively.
As a seasoned police officer, AIG Bala is known for his zero-tolerance approach to crime and criminality.
In his inaugural address, he urged the people of Akwa Ibom and Cross River States to remain law-abiding, assuring them of his commitment to providing effective security in the region.
With his expertise and leadership, Zone 6 Police Command is expected to experience a significant boost in its crime-fighting efforts.
