The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has intercepted drugs valued at more than N2.6bn in Jigawa State.
The State Commander, Musa Maina, told journalists in Dutse that The Command have seized 1.7 million tablets of Tramadol and 195.5 kilograms of Pregabalin.
He added that three suspects were arrested and two vehicles were confiscated during the operation.
He said the drugs were being transported to Konar Dolle, a known distribution hub, from where they were to be moved across Jigawa, Yobe, Bauchi States, and into Niger Republic.
The vehicles a Toyota Sienna and an 18-seater Hummer bus were reportedly loaded with the controlled substances.
Mr. Maina said the operation followed months of intelligence gathering by the agency.
He described the seizure as the command’s biggest drug bust to date.
The NDLEA says investigations are continuing to identify and arrest others linked to the trafficking network.
Authorities say the interception will help reduce drug-related crimes and improve security in Jigawa and neighbouring states.
The agency says tackling drug trafficking remains a key part of efforts to safeguard communities and support national security.
