Some youth under the auspices of Ondo State Youth Network have protested unjust remand in prison of some youths from Akoko over alleged disagreement with the state commissioner for Justice.
The aggrieved youths took to the streets of Akure, describing the remand of the youth as unjust and uncalled for .
Armed with placards with placards with various inscriptions, the youths appealed to the state government to urgently intervene
They argued that the detention of the youth is not only a violation of their rights, but an intentional attempt to intimidate and silence youth the youth.
The protesters said they would not fold our arms while young citizens are persecuted for simply demanding respect and fair treatment.
They claimed that the youths are being punished for expressing legitimate outrage and for standing firm in the face of oppression
