Emergency Responders have completed the process of recovery of the site of the Otedola Gas Tanker Explosion on the Lagos/Ibadan Expressway and the CMD Road is now open for traffic.
The Gas Tanker Explosion on the Road running parallel to the Lagos/Ibadan Expressway had prevented the flow of traffic since Tuesday evening.
Recovery of the explosion site has now been completed with free flow of traffic restored.
TVC News’s Sarah Ayeku reports that Cars, Equipment and burnt out property belonging artisans near the explosion site were cleared off the road to restore traffic.
A Gas Tank fully laden with domestic cooking gas had hit a culvert on the busy CMD road on Tuesday and exploded leading to a fire that burnt for Several hours before being finally put out by the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Services.
Neither the Service or the Lagos State Emergency Managament Agency has come up with a casualty figure yet though a human remain was recovered from a Toyota Corolla car at the site while 3 adult males are recieving treatment for burns at the Trauma and Emergency Unit of the Gbagada General Hospital.
