The Rivers State House of Assembly has proceeded with plenary at the temporary site within the Assembly members quarters.
The plenary session is coming barely two hours after locking out the Governor of the State, Siminalaye Fubara, who had come to present the 2025 budget to the Martins Amaewhule led State House of Assembly.
The members are expected to explain why the governor was locked out and unable to present the 2025 Rivers State Appropriation bill to the State House of Assembly.
The governor’s predecessor in office, Nyesom Wike, who is the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory had earlier in media chat said the governor had no right to barge into the assembly without formal notification considering the current state of affairs.
He also said any elected official can be removed from office if He or She is guilty of committing an impeachable offence.
