The Rotary Club International has partnered with the National Orientation Agency in Kebbi State to improve child health outcomes.
This partnership aims to establish a Rotary Club presence in Kebbi State, raise public awareness about Rotaract clubs, and educate communities on disease prevention.
By working together, they hope to prevent child mortality from preventable diseases such as malaria, pneumonia, and diarrhea.
The project will focus on six Local Government Areas in Kebbi State and will run for three years. During this period, volunteers will receive comprehensive training to conduct house-to-house visits, identify sick children, and administer necessary treatments.
The National Orientation Agency will play a crucial role in disseminating vital information to the grassroots through its network of Community Orientation and Mobilization Officers.
According to Dr. Dele Balogun, Country Director of Rotary Club International, “Rotary Club International has a global reputation for community service, and we are pleased to partner with NOA to reach a wider audience and achieve our goals.
Mallam Nasir Muhammed Karofi, State Director of NOA, also expressed his enthusiasm, stating that “this partnership presents a significant opportunity for us to fulfill our mandate of public enlightenment and mobilization.”
The partnership is expected to improve child health outcomes in Kebbi State by increasing awareness about disease prevention and providing necessary treatments. Additionally, it will strengthen the capacity of local communities to take ownership of their health and well-being.
