A tanker exploded at Karu, on the outskirts of the FCT, causing nearby cars to catch fire.
The incident occurred during the evening rush hour in the busy suburb of Karu.
There are unconfirmed reports of deaths, but firefighters are currently working to extinguish the inferno.
